Students will acquire a deeper understanding of maritime welding and structural fitting topics, maritime terminology, and structural fitting terminology. Students will learn various structural fitting equipment and tools through instructor modeling of processes, instructor demonstrations, hands-on practice, skills, and review. Given structural fitting equipment and tools, the student will acquire a basic understanding of various structural fitting processes in accordance with industry standards and instructor requirements.

Students will identify and perform appropriate safety practices and procedures, including ensuring all weld lines are clear and safe, and be aware of their surroundings.
Recognize, identify, and properly use structural fitting tools and equipment.
Operate and troubleshoot basic maintenance on structural fitting equipment.
Understand and identify job requirements.
Exhibit workplace readiness, including effective communication and a strong work ethic.
Identify and understand ship structures, ship orientation, and ship traversing terminology.
Demonstrate competency in reading, understanding, and applying blueprint knowledge to course projects.
Understand and apply math and measurement skills to assigned activities and course projects.
Demonstrate competency in the use of structural fitting tools and steel shapes to complete effective repairs and building of steel ships.
    1. Fairing Deck Plates
    2. Install Stiffeners
    3. Picture Frame construction
Meet criteria for validation of projects and assessments.
