Students will use the FCAW process to perform basic welding tasks in the 2F-Horizontal Fillet, 3F- Vertical Fillet and 4F overhead fillet weld positions.
This course is 120 hours long and will be completed in 3 weeks working full-time. This course includes instructor delivery, physical demonstrations, hands-on practice, time to refine skills and review, practice welds, and final weld sample performed by the trainee in horizontal, vertical, and overhead welding positions. This sample will be retained and evaluated for acceptability using industry standards.
Terminal objective:
Given welding equipment and tools, the student will be able to weld multiple positions and processes efficiently and safely, accurately setup and minor troubleshooting of equipment, and acquire a basic understanding of carbon arc in accordance with industry standards and instructor requirements.
